I took it upon myself to investigate the truth behind hair extensions, even though l watched Good hair by Chris Rock it did not go deep enough for me when it comes to knowing about what your putting into your hair When it comes to Human hair. l had thought of inventing some form of serum that would stop women from banging their heads when they have bonded in or sewn in human hair. But what l was to discover about human hair especially a lot of the famous black hair brands was to change my view on the hair industry forever. Now without being biased if your going to wear weaves its better you either wore real human hair or 100% synthetic, you wonder why l say this well lets see. After my many travels and my research when l was first starting my hair and beauty company l meet a lot of people some good and some bad all of then gave me a crash course on Good hair and Bad hair. From suppliers in Peru to the Orient of China.YAKI HAIR: Many woman who wear human hair have worn this hair or at least looked at it in a hair shop, a lot of women l met complained about how after a few days the hair wouldl begin to itch the scalp and as the days go on it will continue to itch in a uncontrollably manor. Hence why we have a lot of women banging their head to stop the itching. A very good and reliable source from china told me that YAKI was not made from human hair but animal hair specifically a Yak.
The yak, Bos grunniens, is a long-haired bovine found throughout the Himalayan region of south Central Asia, the Tibetan Plateau and as far north as Mongolia and Russia. Now one would say how do l know my source is telling the truth well considering he is a friend of mine and his family own a factory that supplys countries around the world with Human hair l would say he was a pretty reliable source. The hair is shaved of the Yaks and made into wefts sometimes the factorys do not clean the hair well so it comes with small flee eggs and if they hatch in the hair you could be wearing flee infested Yaki hair.
Now without calling names as l do not want to be sued but a lot of hair brands on the market sell human hair that has been mixed with animal hair or synthetic fibers. Imagine buying 16″ weave for just £15. Now real human hair would not be so cheap especially if it was genuine 100% real hair. It is cheaper for factory’s around the world to mix heat resistant synthetic fibers with their human hair in order to save money but at the consumers expense. l have seen people that have had severe rashes that have damaged their scalp because they wore a weave that actually wasn’t 100% human hair. Some people’s hair does not react to fake human hair which is all well and good but the money you spend on fake human hair once calculated a year some women spend between £300 – £700 a year on different weaves. Some will argue that its because they want a different look but if you invest in good quality sanitized real human hair if well maintained it can last you years giving you the option to color it curl it perm it because it is real hair.
